Hames Chocolates EUDR Statement
EUDR Statement
The European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) is a ground-breaking legislative framework aimed at reducing deforestation and forest degradation linked to the production of specific commodities, including cocoa, soya and palm. These are key ingredients widely used in chocolate production. EUDR is designed to ensure that products entering the EU market do not contribute to the deforestation of the world’s precious forests, which play a critical role in mitigating climate change and preserving biodiversity.
Hames Chocolates are committed to sustainable sourcing and welcome the introduction of EUDR. As an SME our deadline to be compliant with EUDR is 30th June 2026. Our supply chain expects to be ready for EUDR before this time. There may be a transition period extending into 2026 of raw materials but we will became EUDR compliant as soon as our supply chain and the EU commission is fully ready.
Shipments destined for the EU market from January 2026.
If any of our customers are shipping products into the EU and require EUDR compliant verification you must notify us prior to placing an order to ensure all documentations and verifications are in place. During the transition period this may have an impact on lead times.
